I have just finished reading the above, which is the last Sandman graphic novel by Neil Gaiman, and it said in the back that Gaiman also wrote the English translation for the movie Princess Mononoke.

^_^ Hayao Miyazaki, who directed Princess Mononoke, and Studio Ghibli are also producing an anime version of Howl's Moving Castle, by Diana Wynne Jones, who is a close friend of Neil Gaiman. In fact one of her books is dedicated to him and he appears as a cameo in Deep Secret. (Plus, she inspired the idea behind American Gods.) Isn't it a very small world, after all?

An American Gods anime would be an interesting thing to see, but like all the anime that's based off manga, it wouldn't be as good as the book. But, hell, exposure is exposure, yeah? The Dream Hunters was just a nice piece. Words by Gaiman and art by Amano, my favorite modern artist.

I've never seen anything else by Amano, but The Dream Hunters was really beautiful. Do you have any links to his work?

Well, Amano's an old fellow who's had his hands in several properties. He did a lot of conceptual art when he started off, did an interesting rendition of Tekkaman Blade, and that's about all I remember of that. He's rather large in the videogame industry. Amano was responsible for the character design for the Final Fantasy game series until FFVII, when Tetsuya Nomura took his place, but, Amano was still commisioned to draw concept pieces for the series. My last icon was of FFVII's Vincent Valentine that he did, and this icon is of FFIX's Kuja, Amano-style. He also contributed character design for Kartia, an old-school Playstation game (which is rather handy for learning kanji) I'm sure you've heard of Vampire Hunter D. Amano was responsible for him, as well. There was Dream Hunters, of course, but I feel like I'm forgetting something else, something obvious... But, no matter.

And, last but not least, no. You don't know me nor I you. I just slipped on in through a mutual 'friend' of ours, Winamp Skins. I was just compelled to respond to this post... I guess it was because of the Dream Hunters. Good stuff. But yeah, no sweat. It's not rude at all, I ask that of everyone who randomly posts in my journals. So, if you're rude, I guess that makes me rude as well. ^_^
