Ad Mundo Exteriore,

So, today was the long-awaited NYCSEF. I arrive nine o' clock sharp, go to my booth, and guess what I find? [livejournal.com profile] tryogeru is stationed right next to me! Needless to say, the fair was a lot more interesting and less depressing than it was last year. Well, actually, last year wasn't too bad, because [livejournal.com profile] ldmoonflower was around. But it's even better when your friend is sitting right next to you, and you can pore over Go books together. Or eat fries. Or make little origami frogs jump over the NYCSEF button.

Anyway, it was fun. Though the judges seemed a little bored by my project. I also had a coughing fit while answering one of the questions, which was a little embarrassing. I got out early this time, thank goodness. Last year, I was the last person in the room. How awful, neh? But now I'm home, free to stress away about teaching resolution writing at HUNS tomorrow. (I can't write resolutions!)

Oh, and yes, I deserve to be shot. I wrote something for Hikaru no Go. It's not finished yet, but here's a snippet. It has no plot and is going nowhere. Sounds of Afternoons, fragment )

For some reason, I've grown extremely minimalist. I mean, "show, don't tell" is an adage I've learned in fifth grade, but this "soundtrack" of a story is taking it a little too far. But I felt incapable of writing any more descriptive narration. Maybe I'm passing through a Hemingway phase?
