Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Today, in kendo, I got a bruise on my right wrist, a bruise on my left thumb, a callus on my left palm, a blister on my left big toe, and sore thighs and calves. >_< One of the former captains of the girls' kendo team at Tokyo University as well as a former member of the Taiwanese national kendo team came to practice. Their form is just beautiful--although their movements would slice their opponents to pieces if they held a real sword, they looked like they were dancing. We all look so clumsy in comparison. ::sighs:: Well, it was fun, despite all the "injuries" I came back with.

Anime meme, taken from [livejournal.com profile] aetherangelette:

Your meme, should you choose to accept it, is to rank the following anime in order, from COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT to COULDN'T CARE LESS. To add value to this process, you must also add four titles to the list, and remove four titles from the list, before passing the meme on (including these instructions). Because, let's face it, anime is a little harder to get one's hands on than movies, and a lot more obscure to boot.

Hikaru no Go : have never been more obsessed with any other series
Gundam Wing : because it introduced me to anime fandom
.hack//SIGN : gah, it's just cool through and through
Naruto : weak spot for must-succeed-despite-obstacles shounen anime
Weiß Kreuz : mostly because Aya is pretty
Full Metal Panic Fumoffu? : fumo fumo fumoffu...mecha parodies are the best
Trigun : wonderful plot, but would like more if Wolfwood didn't die
Card Captor Sakura : all the pinkness redeemed by the one and only Eriol-kun
Kodomo no Omocha : cute but not obsession material
Full Moon wo Sagashite : pretty, but I haven't watched most of it, and it's not my type of anime...
Hellsing : the first episode bored me to tears, too slowly paced for me
Fushigi Yuugi : only watched first four episodes, but Miaka is too painful to bear
Yu-Gi-Oh : yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, so pointless
Romance of the Three Kingdoms : an utter betrayal of the original story, should be burned for its blasphemy.

Deleted: E's Otherwise, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop and Slayers
Added: Hikaru no Go, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hellsing, Romance of the Three Kingdoms (i.e. my one most favorite anime and my three most hated anime series)

Since I'm bored, and about to do laundry, I thought maybe I could try starting a meme:

List five (or if you're particularly vindictive, ten) books you utterly hate. Don't cheat and include dime novels that are generally despised by anyone remotely literate (i.e. something like Louis L'Amour, which hopefully you'll never have picked up in the first place). That's too easy. Choose books that were usually considered well-written by contemporary critics but were anathema to you when you tried them yourself. Another crucial criterion: you must have finished reading the book.

Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte : I can't stand Bronte because her plots are just so implausible to me that I get rather infuriated just thinking about it...-_-
Annie John, by Jamaica Kincaid : Oh, the horror of having this book for English class...not only did it fail to say anything new, but it was incredibly difficult to relate to the main character
Black Boy, by Richard Wright : I admit it's a great work of literature, but it was so bitter and self-righteous that it alienated me from the beginning
Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare : If we have to study Shakespeare, why a love story that has become so banal that even its better moments fail to save it from utter failure?
Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens : Although I love Dickens dearly, Great Expectations was a rather exasperating book

...that was hard. I can't find very many books that I genuinely disliked. Note that most of the books I did come up with were those I had to read in eighth grade English. -_- I guess the teacher has something to do with it.
