Pitfalls of obsession

I have about a week and a half left to my summer vacation. ::cue sad Italian tenor aria in background:: My reflections on the time spent so far:

1. I am as socially inept as ever. Why is it so hard to initiate conversations with new people? I also spend just as much time second-guessing myself and replaying conversations in my head as I did in seventh grade, even though I know it's a waste of time and causes me undue mental stress. >_< Ugh! I've decided there's only so far I can go in acquiring social skills, and despite the incredible loneliness of my past ten weeks in Cambridge, I might as well be used to feeling out-of-place and on-the-fringe-of-conversations.
2. Tenimyu has taken over my brain. All tryogeru's fault, although I actually gave her the first musical. But seriously, Fudoumine! Kamio! Tachibana! Shinji! I spent all of August humming "omoidasou ano hi" under my breath while setting up PCR reactions. I even...bought a Shinji plushie at Tokyo Kid.
