Ad Mundo Exteriore,

I'm returning to Cambridge tomorrow. I don't feel ready to be a sophomore yet. I've finished packing everything except my desktop computer, which I will do as soon as I finish copying off all my music files. [livejournal.com profile] tryogeru, I've watched all the FMA and some of the PMK episodes you lent me at the beginning of the summer, but unfortunately I don't have any room in my bags to bring them back with me. My parents will be coming up again two weeks later for my birthday, and they've promised to bring it back then. Is that all right? Are you going to murder me cruelly now?

I really want to read Mr. Norrell and Jonathan Strange, the recently-released first novel by Susanna Clarke. If you read Neil Gaiman's blog, you've probably heard of it; in fact, I first heard of Susanna Clarke through the Sandman anthology Book of Dreams, where she wrote a beautiful short story. I've seen the book in bookstores, thick and wrapped in plastic, and I'm hoping that Widener will have obtained a copy by now. ^_^ I hear it's very arch and contains long footnotes citing false sources of information on magic. Anyway, I spent some time this morning looking through various reviews, and for the most part, the critics seem to like it, although not whole-heartedly, for what critic would wholly endorse a book without, well, criticism? The website for the book is here: www.jonathanstrange.com, if you're interested.

Er, what else? Oh, right, I now have six Gmail invites. Although I get the feeling that the entire world (or at least everyone who wants to) has already converted to Gmail, if any of you still want one, poke me. ^_^

Now that the Facebook has expanded, I swear, I can find at least three-quarters of my high school class. Not to mention the '04s. It's actually kind of fun, perusing through the directory and learning where everyone went to college.
