End of hiatus
Aug. 26th, 2004 08:36 pmAd Mundo Exteriore,
Hello, I am back in New York and currently at
tryogeru's house. Actually, on her laptop, which has a cool wireless card, so we can sit in the living room and listen to music and agonize over our FSTs. >_> Anyway, am ending my hiatus from LJ early because...frankly I really miss babbling about my life. Sad as that sounds.
So, the past two months and a half: research is fun (the project I worked on was helping to develop a microarray for genotyping Arabidopsis, but the lab itself works on a heat stress protein that's a chaperone and potentially a molecular mechanism for evolution), but Cambridge is boring and terribly lonely in the summer. I've never felt so out of touch with people before, although it got a little better once Tryogeru and I started weekly five-hour conversations in the middle of the night. (Ah, she corrects me--we were on the phone for six hours. Thank goodness cell phone plans have off-peak hours free.) Oh, and a daily email exchange with Jenny J. ^_^
All right, so we're going to go on a movie marathon soon, but I wanted to announce that I wasn't completely nonproductive in the fandom department:

Click to download. Featuring Cloud Strife, Advent Children style. ^_^
Also,
rimedragona's drabble, which I actually finished back in July, but am posting a link anyway: The Problem With Fortune-Telling (also here if you want to avoid Fanfiction.net).
Spent a lot of time reading mysteries, fantasy and random New York Times Book Review recommendations. Hm, what else? Oh, everyone, Hero is coming out in the U.S. tomorrow! Opening day! We are going to see it. Are you? If not, why not? ^_^
...Tari
Post-script: Am logging IPs of all comments due to an unfortunate incident with an anonymous commenter. Why random people read my LJ is beyond me. I suppose I should be vaguely flattered that I sound "smart" although I think I sound more like a whiny "stupid undergrad"...which I am, actually. >_

Date: 2004-08-27 08:39 pm (UTC)As for the caption, I write slash/yaoi, and I'm also very fond of fairy tales. I've written fairy tale slash a few times, which is why I use that caption. ^_^ Princes in these folktales can be slashed, too.
