Post-script: Oh my gosh. Am hearing the (in)famous carillon performance of Lowell bell tower right now (13:02). The bells belong to a Russian monastery and are atonal. Yes, atonal. I had no idea how loud they'd be. >_> Actually, it sounds kind of cool, albeit somewhat deafening.
