Site update

I finally got around to transferring my fiction from the school server to my own domain (@trois-royaumes.com). The navigation has gotten even more complicated and unwieldy, and the interface even more monochrome and minimalist, but hopefully it will be easier to download.
Actually, I want to do something wih the domain name itself (preferably something Three Kingdoms related), so the entire .infinity. site is in its own folder. The fanfiction, at least, is all updated and linked properly, although nothing else is. >_> Actually, as I was forced to skim through my GW writing again, I realized just how annoying I sounded as a teenager. I'm sure I'll look back, five years later, and note again how annoying I sound as a college student. But, ugh, what can I say? I'm such a dilettante. Once in a while, I get this intense urge to write a long, beautiful story, but the instinct gets easily subsumed as soon as I find a good book. I think the need to consume a story is what drives me to write (that is, when I can't find my own supply of "story" the way I want to read it), and as soon as I find that someone else has written something satisfactory, I have no drive to create anything of my own.
(Academic or at least nonfiction writing is different, of course, which is why my not-so-secret dream is to write the next bestselling history/biography/popular science book, not the great American novel. ^_^ Yes, ivory towers, I'm here to stay.)
My server gives me lots of bandwidth, which is excellent for FST hosting, and has all these detailed statistics about who downloads/views what, etc. I'm starting to understand why some people get frustrated by leechers who don't comment in
fst. I used to think it was a matter of, say, twenty or so people not commenting. Boy, was I wrong. I have about thirty (maybe thirty-two now?) commenters, but the most-downloaded track on my FST has been viewed over 115 times (last I checked). I mean, I don't have a bandwidth problem, but the degree of difference is a little annoying. But oh well, what can I say? I'm a horrible leech myself (I often forget to leave comments at the music rotation LJs). I guess I'll just resolve to make more of an effort and give some feedback in the future.
I've read up to the second chapter of the seventh volume of Tokyo Crazy Paradise (thanks to Tin's FST), and argh, I want to know what happens next. ;_; Yakuza stories are awesome.
I am going to try my best to finish my physics problem set now. >_> Procrastination, I will defeat thee!
Yours &c.

it's funny - i never really got into gw. actually, i haven't watched much anime as of late - I find it hard to balance school and reading and extracurrics, so anything that requires watching a screen [it's been a long while since i've watched tv] pretty much gets chopped of my "to do" list.
the great thing about journals, though, is that you really do see more than just your writing mature. i have diaries from way back when - fifth grade, mayhaps? - and it's amusing/heartwrenching/embarassing to see what my goals and priorities and dreams were back then.
eww physics! [have fun...]
and i'm still procrastinating >_

Date: 2004-10-06 06:01 am (UTC)^^;; I'm so bad. I DL, store in a folder, and don't always listen. I have about six soundtracks I've yet to listen to... but if I DON'T DL, I know I'll get into the series at SOME point, and regret not grabbing it when I could.
So usually I say... GRABBING!
