The delights of escapism
Sep. 30th, 2002 09:54 pmAd Mundo Exteriore,
For once on a weekday during my short career as a high school senior or a sixth-year or a sixth-former or twelfth grader, I have homework in only two subjects. Nevertheless, this extra time must be productively spent on college applications and Intel applications and a NFAA essay. Argh.
Because I'm going to be lazy and waste $25, I'm going to recycle essays for the NFAA contest. Les Petales is going to shudder in horror, but I have no other choice. And may I add that I'm panicking about Intel? My clustering programs will not cluster.
Oh dear. Back to Personal Data Form, part II. And printing out addressed envelopes. ::sniffles:: I hate this application process. My parents just had to take one really awfully difficult exam in all the subject areas and write one essay all in the same testing period. Then their schools would relay the proper information about their grades, extracurriculars and achievements to the colleges in which they were interested. They did not have to sit through this whole application nonsense. I am of course ignoring the competition, the all-night studying sessions, the cram schools and the very fact that you were required to take exams in math, two sciences, history, language and literature. Right now, I think I'll prefer that.
I'm not really stressed out over college applications, because as you can obviously deduce, I'm rambling in my LiveJournal rather than actually working on the aforementioned applications. I am rather trying to find any excuse to avoid writing up these stupid forms, and happily reading the newest part to Bridlewood Manor. In other words, I'm not stressed but I should be. I'm purposefully deluding myself into pretending that I have nothing to do. Finished with homework, go play. Never mind the niggling voice that says, "But! But! But!"
