Blair Hall Apts., on the Feast of Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone! Or happy winter solstice to those of you who don't celebrate Christmas. ^_^

We got home rather late from Midnight Mass last night, and then instead of going to sleep like sane people, we turned on the television and found that NBC was broadcasting the Midnight Mass from Rome, with the Pope presiding. At the Sistine Chapel, no less, and sung in Latin. Wow. Anyway, so we watched that too, before going to sleep.

I wore my boots to church, and everyone proceeded to say, "Oh, you've grown taller!" I felt like such a fraud. Heh. And all the little kids have grown so tall! They're mostly taller than me now; if I hadn't worn boots, they'd have towered over me. Rather disturbing.

We went to watch The Incredibles afterwards (I always treat my parents to a movie every Christmas), and it was a lot of fun! ^_^ My mother has now been persuaded that Pixar movies aren't just "cartoons". ^_^ We then stuffed ourselves at the tofu stew place and rented the first ten videos of Daejanggeum, which is a historical drama about a healer/cook. It was a hit last year, like Sangdo, and we'd wanted to see it for quite a while, but never got up the nerve. It's fifty-six episodes long, after all. I'll definitely have to sit down and write proper reviews of everything before the break is over.

My Christmas presents: a new scarf, a new pair of gloves, the Extended Edition DVD set of The Return of the King, and a book on contemplative prayer. The last reads like a Zen manual on meditation (well, aside from the theistic context, that is) and is somewhat intimidating, but nonetheless rather interesting.

For the past few nights, I've had bizarre kendo-related dreams. Last night's variation involved me running around barefoot in gi and hakama in the MAC mezzanine, which was connected to the Widener stacks, which was connected to my high school. I had to chase some unknown foe all around those buildings, weaving through hallways and lockers and bookshelves. I woke up feeling out of breath. -_-

Yours &c.

THE INCREDIBLES!

AAAH!!!!

[I <3 Disney. I also manage to cry at just about every Disney film - from Dumbo to Bambi to Hercules, I've managed to find an opportunity to sob. I also managed to cry 6 times the duration of Finding Nemo the first time I saw it... so thank heavens The Incredibles wasn't quite the tear jerker. =)]
