Blair Hall Apts., on the Feast of St. Francis de Sales
I'm back in New York and recuperating from the brain trauma that is finals period. Although I'm kind of looking forward to second semester; I want nothing more than to put the ignominous past behind me and actually have a humanities course as a break. (Triple science course schedule = a new level of academic masochism.)
1. The Blizzard of '05, as the news so dramatically calls it, started while I was on the bus going home, but the trip was only an hour delayed. I got home safely, and we haven't stirred since, except to go to church yesterday. Instead we've spent the past two days lounging on the couch and watching 대장금 (Daejanggeum), which remains as intriguing as ever. The review I'm typing up on my laptop is now several pages long and full of spoilers. Heh. We plan to finish the drama in the next two days, which means four videos a day. That equals eight hours of straight drama-watching. Marathoning is fun, but my head does ache from staring at the TV screen for so long. >_>
2. I updated
dragondormant today with a huge load of Yuletide recs. I'm so proud of myself for accomplishing one item on my to-do list. ^_^
3. I've been having dreams every night on the problems from the chemistry final, and I haven't even looked at the answers! (I didn't want to because I thought it would be depressing. Apparently my subconscious perfectly capable of depressing me all on its own.)
4. There are six new chapters of Ravages of Time on Fifay! Oh, happiness!
5. February is pairing month at
fst. There are 98 comments in the sign-up thread. My hard drive is doomed. I think I'll have to start burning off FSTs after all. >_< What wouldn't I give for an iPod right now? (Edit: Never mind, it's 101 comments and counting. Although not all comments are actual sign-ups. Also, I signed myself up for a Hot-Blooded Woman FST--Haji and Shinwoo--and I'm going to fill it with tons of Korean "pop rock". Or is that "rock pop"? I still want to make a Wa! FST too, although it will probably be full of cheerful sugar. Hm...)
6. The deadline for
fanthology recs is coming up (well, I think...it's January 31st, right?). I've been mostly perusing old fics, and I think I have my recs list up to three (maybe a tentative four?). I think one of my recs doesn't fit the word limit though, and I think I've been looking more at Gothic fics rather than strict ghost stories. Anyway, if anyone has good ghost story fanfiction recs, let me know? ^_^
Yours &c.
