I slept all evening, so now I'm awake and ready to pull an all-nighter. I ought to dose myself with caffeine tomorrow morning if I'm to keep awake during tutorial at all.

1. Yesterday, while pretending to do my biology problem set, I wrote this for the new "Mythology" challenge at [livejournal.com profile] deathnote100. The drabble could be better, but I think the idea is genius, and as soon as I find a willing victim writer, I'm going to persuade someone to write something longer.

2. I'm currently sitting at my computer eating from the huge bag of Japanese snacks that Yumi-san gave me as a gift. They are mostly 과자 but peculiarly savory with only the lightest touch of sweetness that comes from the starch dissolving into sugar on your tongue. But of course not as salty as chips. The one I just tried was baked with sesame, I think, and the taste lingers pleasantly at the moment (고소함 is the word I'm looking for). They are not addictive but rather novel, both familiar and foreign at the same time.

3. Gave my website a quick layout change, after hearing of its incompatibility with certain browsers: .infinity.. It now reminds me of inverted newsprint.

4. I opened up Photoshop for about half an hour in a misguided effort to finish up that wallpaper that's been sitting in my computer since last May. I haven't done graphics ever since the Cloud skin last summer, and I thought I would have become less anal about perspective and just complete the thing, but no, I still want to try to get the perspective to look correct. Anyway, a couple of more months, and I may actually finish. That will definitely be my last wallpaper though. I want to return to skinning in the summer, but I have no confidence in wallpapers anymore.

5. Sometimes [livejournal.com profile] fst depresses me: for example, when I realize that I have 5.86 GB of FST music and a dwindling 3.21 GB of free space, or when I see permutations of the same set of pop songs that even I don't want to bother to download. But sometimes [livejournal.com profile] fst is positively inspiring, like the Capeta FST recently posted. Also, I just listened to the Neville/Ginny pairing FST, and it is fabulous. ::sighs happily:: Certain FSTs are perfect for getting me to do work, and no, not because the music is boring, but because usually there's a seamless quality, a coherence to the mix as a whole that keeps me concentrating instead of getting distracted.

Yours &c.

Because I figure it would take me all night to write my research proposal, read the paper for tutorial tomorrow and try to skim through three chapters of physics? Especially with my penchant for checking my email every five minutes.

Actually, I spent the past hour and a half working on every part of the Herchel Smith application that did not actually involve writing the research proposal. -_-;; My work habits are terrible.

I think the Capeta FST is one of the better ones posted recently. Especially since I do listen to blaring techno in my car. Particularly when I'm stuck in gridlock so I don't go nuts.

Given the high volume of FSTs being posted recently, it's rather sad that I've downloaded only 3 or so in the last week. Of course part of that is because if I don't know the source material, I'm basing it solely on soundtrack appearances. If there doesn't seem to be any coherence or logical progression, I tend not to download.

I'm very inconsistent in my downloading patterns, but I'm slowly starting to download not so much by source material but by FST maker--there are certain FSTs I'll always download no matter what because I've adored the person's previous mixes. Even still, the music is piling up way too quickly on my computer. I need to get an extra hard drive or something. -_- Something in me can't bring myself to download anything I've deleted.

I think [livejournal.com profile] fst has taught me the love of techno and electronica. Which is why I shall forever love the community, even to the point when my hard drive gives out/dies/stages a coup d'etat in protest.

Oops, I meant "delete anything I've downloaded" not the other way around. I'm...not functioning today. -_-;;

Hey, looks like the Columbia team is heading to the Harvard tournament. Are you going to compete? I'll make a fool out of myself no doubt but it'd be good to see you too.

Hey, did your team request hosting? Let me know; I'll try to pull some strings to you can stay with me or something. XD

Augh, it's going to take me another few months to finish. I bet I'll finish in May, exactly a year after I began. It's the Kim Hyung Tae wall, you know, the one with the girl in hanbok.

You pull all-nighters way too regularly. >_< Poor oniichan...
