Apartment life and Gokusen

Tari's piece of monumental stupidity for the day: go to the Korean grocery store 25 minutes away at the height of the afternoon heat and try to walk back with two reasonably heavy bags. The deed made more stupid by the fact that (1) she did not eat a proper breakfast or lunch beforehand, due to having woken up late and (2) she had already tired herself out with cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. -_- On the other hand, I ran out of kimchi and potatoes, and if I had put off shopping until the evening, dinner would be late.
But I do admit that doing my own cooking for the summer is actually much more enjoyable than I expected. Especially now that we're cooking separately, and I can make the dishes that I like without feeling bad for everyone else. Also, if I'm lazy, I can just fry an egg and make 덥밥 ("covered rice"). Tonight's menu is going to be curry rice! Yum!
I'm starting to understand why my mother cleans the house twice a week. The bathroom is always in a terrible condition by the beginning of the weekend, not because my roommates and I are particularly messy but because we all have long hair, and it gets everywhere. I've resolved to cut my hair short and keep it short all during grad school (when I'll presumably be living in my own apartment). (You see, during the school year, dorm crew cleans all the bathrooms for us, so it's not much of a problem, but we have no such service during the summer and are forced to either clean the bathroom ourselves or...not clean them. But clearly the latter is not an option with me. Anyway, point being, doing it during the summer is one thing; doing it all year is a nightmare. Hence, off with the hair once I graduate, even if my hair gets unruly when short.)
I downloaded Gokusen, thanks to
memlu, and stayed up late last night to read volumes one through six. Now I'm addicted. Brief description: mild-looking teacher at a delinquent all-boys' high school turns out to be fourth-generation yakuza. ^_^ Enough said. I want to download the volume seven chapters scanslated by Impossibility, but I don't have an mIRC client on this iBook. What's a good client for Macs? Or even better, does anyone know of a good BT site that has the scanslations? Although come to think of it, I don't have a BT client on this laptop either.
I think Yankumi/Shin is starting to be my 'ship for the series, which is odd because the power dynamics involved in a teacher/student relationship always unnerve me. (Not that that stops me from reading teacher/student fics. Actually I think I read them for the sake of getting unnerved.)
Psst,
aetherangelette, do you have Juuni Kokki on CD? Could you mail it to me? I know you helped translate it when you were still in fansubbing...all the great 12K fic and FSTs on my friends list have finally convinced me to watch it, although I don't in fact have enough free space on this computer to download any anime.
Yours &c.

I've gone from nearly 35 gigs on May 15th to 20 gigs a week ago... And now... with clubbox.. I've even gone down to 13 gigs! O_O!!! AHH! It's like I'm on my laptop again! Really... Where in the world do I use 100 gigs? I don't get it.
