Dream log, movie
Aug. 8th, 2005 08:53 amSherman Fairchild, on the Feast of St. Dominic
I dreamed last night that I flew to Japan for Gasshuku, not to participate but to take care of some convoluted political business (don't ask me what because I didn't even know in the dream) and then tried to fly back to the U.S. Except in my dream, Japan was west of China, and I ended up flying to Xinjiang and then trying to take an airport limousine bus (that curiously enough looked exactly like the ones in Korea, fancy that) all the way to Beijing, except all the buses were being mobbed by people wearing colorful robes and bearing enormous piles of luggage. I was stranded in the dust, in the middle of a dramatic-looking desert (of course I did not appreciate the scenery within the dream), and about to burst into tears from frustration, when I woke up.
Of course, that's still better than the dream from yesterday's afternoon nap, when I was observing, in considerable detail, this new video chatting software with a really awesome graphic interface--not unlike some of the nicer IRC clients--that allowed you to play interactive games and also could be installed on cell phones. What's sad is that such software probably already exists. It was a pretty awesome program though. I think it's a sign that I'm spending too much time on AIM. -_-
Oh, and I forgot to mention: Nan and I went to watch Mad Hot Ballroom with my mother before she left for New York. That movie is hilarious! I know it seems like we're on a documentary kick these days, but the film really was entertaining. It made me rather miss New York, in fact. Also, I'm almost tempted to relearn ballroom dancing. I took a semester of it as a phys. ed. selective in high school but all I remember are the basic steps and none of the variations. Plus, there were a shortage of males in the class (is anyone surprised?), and I almost always had to lead, so I learned all the steps backwards anyway. (Not that I'm any good at leading; I'm too small and unassertive.)
Yours &c.
