Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Yesterday, I scored two points in shiai (both kote on Jenny, during the intersquad tournament). That's the first time I've ever won a match...actually the first time I ever scored in shiai. ::feels pleased:: Of course, that's partly because I was up against Jenny, who is probably better than me at this moment but not by a significant amount. (Also, I don't think either of us were feeling all that motivated at that moment.) I went up against Mary Grace next, who completely disconcerted me with her kiai. It's...I can't describe it; it's got to be experienced firsthand, but needless to say, I was rather intimidated.

This morning was senior sendoff, and at dinner last night, they told us that our job was to keep the seniors running in kakari-geiko so we'd tire them out sooner for the upperclassmen and alumni (who do the real beating-up). So we ended up running backwards in circles, while the seniors chased after us. Apparently, we've set a new precedent because once it was all over, the juniors told us that we were brilliant and the seniors had murderous looks on their faces. Kofi says that he's definitely going to come for our senior sendoff to pay us back. Heh...but all we did was follow orders...>_>

Now all that's left is the party tonight, and uh, apparently we have to put on a skit making fun of all the kendo club members. >_< I thought I put skits behind me in high school but no...yesterday, the Korean classes all put on skits as well (there was crossdressing in every single one, by the way) and we kind of forgot our lines and didn't make anyone laugh at the right moments, but oh well, we tried our best. (Actually, what I found most amusing were the bad accents. And wow, there are quite a few Korean-American students with atrocious accents. I used to have one myself, apparently, but I lost it after coming to New York and being inundated with Korean television.)

Must shower, clean up room, go to blockmate's concert performance, write skit, do chemistry problem set, buy foodstuffs for the party...It's going to be a long day. >_< And all I want to do is collapse and sleep. (I'm still sick, by the way. Stupid immune system. ::mentally kicks lymphocytes::)

That drabble will be done, though, oniichan. Someday.

Aww, hope you feel better. I think the best way is to eat a lot of ginger. The ginger is to kill the disease...if it doesn't kill you first.

Ehehehe...where can I find ginger and do you expect me to eat it raw, because if so, I'll definitely be killed first?

Gargh, take it like a man! Ginger'll put hair on your chest and all that...

O_O

In other news, I'm now a blubbering mass of "Awww, sadness, Maes~ return to your Roy!! He needs you, as a boinking-buddy and someone to...work...under...him...yea--boinking-buddy"-ness. I'm in fact working on an icon, but can't for the life of me figure out what exactly I want to do. I want to make that Roy "oh, it's raining" one, but...

It is 3:30. Why? Discuss.

I know what you mean about the accents. Most Filipino-Chinese youth over here have accents as well, that is, if they can even speak Chinese at all.

And we were being inundated with Korean soap operas for a while here. I think they showed both Endless Love series, Love Letter, and some other shows that I forgot the title of.

Ah, Korean soap operas. So bad and clichéd yet somehow compelling. I enjoy placing bets with my father on the next plot twist, scene, character appearance and line of dialogue. ^_^

Although Autumn Story (or Endless Love) had such a horrible script that my tolerance gave up on it. (TV: "I'm sorry! I'm sorry [formal]! I'm so sorry! I'm very sorry" Tari: "USE A BLOODY THESAURUS ALREADY! >_<")

We get a quadruple whammy of cliches over here. Not only do we get Korean soaps, we also get Chinese soaps, and of course, the ubiquituous telenovelas and our local teleseryes. I blame F4 and Meteor Garden for the sudden flood of badly dubbed Chinese and Korean soaps though.

Both Endless Love seasons did so well over here that a local record company actually put out the soundtracks, including the Filipino versions of the title songs. Bleh.

Lol, you know what's funny? I'm cramming for Japanese, right? There's like a crapload of kanji I have to memorize, so I'm doing it old school, and writing it a bajillion times on scrap paper, right? You know when you write kanji, how there's a certain way of writing it, a certain flow, that is best, and least tiring? Well, I found myself "getting into the rhythm" as Kamio would say, and the best way I found memorizing them was writing them, eyes closed, about 30-40 times, head bopping to "the rhythm"...

Randomness, and I think only you would kinda get the kinda Tenipuri reference...

run away!!
