Lowell House, on the Feast of St. Saturninus

Don't ask me why I said I'd do NaNoWriMo redux when I'm notoriously bad at writing more than 500 words at a time. >_> So let's see, what are the various ways I can split up 50,000 words...

50,000 words/31 days = 1613 words/day. But clearly, I'll be more busy some weeks than others.

12/01-12/031613 words/day4839 words
12/04-12/102113 words/day14791 words
12/11-12/17613 words/day4291 words
12/18-12/200 words
12/21-12/242613 words/day10452 words
12/25-12/312313 words/day16191 words
TOTAL50564 words

I can already see myself failing. -_- Also, the even more pressing question of what to write.

next chapter of ViaMis for [livejournal.com profile] fourcats - 5000 words
San for [livejournal.com profile] 52_flavours, 44 themes left, on average ~170 words/theme - 7480 words
Weiß Kreuz for [livejournal.com profile] 20answers, 11 themes left, on average ~180 words/theme - 1980 words
Colin, Mary, Dickon for [livejournal.com profile] 3measures, 9 themes total, on average ~500 words/theme - 4500 words
Yankumi/Shin for [livejournal.com profile] 20_aus, 20 themes total, on average ~1000 words/theme - 20000 words
TOTAL - 38960 words

Of course, 5000 words for ViaMis is more of a goal than a plausibility, and it's really doubtful whether I'll be able to finish all the themes for [livejournal.com profile] 3measures and [livejournal.com profile] 20_aus this month. There's also the sequel to "Balance" but I was thinking of holding off on it until wuxia month rolls around in February, since I'm rather stuck at the moment. >_>

Of course, if I'm insane enough, I could try to write for every theme in [livejournal.com profile] 31_days...

December for [livejournal.com profile] 31_days, 31 themes total, on average ~300 words/theme - 9300 words
TOTAL - 48260 words

Argh. And this is supposed to be my most unrealistic estimate too.

All right, in the interests of me actually having a chance at finishing Nano Redux, what about Christmas gift fics?

[Poll #622948]

Might as well do the Christmas wishlist meme, while I'm at it. What I want for Christmas this year:
- a cure for my Internet addiction
- letters/cards with interesting stamps
- mp3s of new artists I haven't heard before
- manga/manhwa recommendations
- fic! (currently obsessing over: Hikaru no Go, Bleach, Eyeshield 21, Hana Yori Dango, Gokusen, Rin!, Paradise Kiss, Glass Mask, Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries; alternately, any fic for [livejournal.com profile] 31_days during December)

Yours &c.

a cure for my Internet addiction

If I had one, I wouldn't give it away, I'd keep it for myself. My eyes are about to fall out of my head (so is my gpa - fall, that is) because I've been attached to my shiny new laptop like a cyborg for the last week. But I can't let go! I'll never let go!

Oops, I mean December...heh, thanks for the correction. ^_^

New computers are shiiiiny, but even this old computer has me glued to the keyboard. >_>;;

(And oh man, Inui/Fuji...Duet of Sadism indeed. ::brain breaks:: Eviiiiil. XD)

Oh, that's right. You put together the December themes, right?

The fact that it's new is only special because I went five months without a computer and I'm making up for lost time by regaining bad habits with a vengeance.

I thought, Inui/Kaidoh. Then I thought, nah, too easy to be sweet with that pairing. Then I thought, Fuji/Eiji. Then I couldn't think of anything interesting. Then I thought, Tezuka/Ryoma. Then I thought it would be to easy to be serious with that pairing. Then I thought, Inui/Fuji: the pairing of DOOOOOOOOOOM.

*pouts* You're not in any fandoms I write in. Do you still like HP or Prince of Tennis?

I still like HP! Just wrote fic for it last week, in fact. I also still like Tenipuri, although as ever my enthusiasm is mostly limited to the Fudoumine boys. And although I don't exactly call myself part of classics fandom, I do love your Achilles/Patroclus fic! XD

Haven't yet, but you recommended her to me before, and the only thing holding me back is that I can't find the first book in the series. >_<;; It looks awfully interesting though, and I've been meaning to ask actually if it's all right to start with the second book. XD

yeah, I read the series in a completely random order and still understood it all. You'll love Julian. He totally tops the list of my favourite literary detectives. <33333333

Write 70,000 for December and January and split it? Then you only have to hit 35,000. Uh, twice. Also, will be giving you some feedback re: Four Cats soonish.

Well, January is finals month for us, so I thought it would be better to try to get it all done in December...but if things don't work out, I'll probably take that option. ^_^;;

Currently? Don't you mean *FOREVER*?

Oh, and didn't you rec me once "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene or something? Well he was on "The Cobert Report", and apparently Steve Cobert nailed him in perhaps an alternate universe, perhaps this one. Hah.
