Lowell House, on the Feast of Sts. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

I just came from my 3-hour gene regulation final, and oh my gosh, after a weekend plus two days of panicking, studying, not-studying, telling myself to study, pretending to study, half-hearted studying, and finally back to the beginning with panicked studying, it's over! Yay! The most important final of the semester is behind me! So, as long as I get the paper for 91r written over Christmas break, January can be spent in relative leisure. I mean, I'll still have three finals and three papers, but except for the 91r research paper, everything else is for a Core or an elective course and hence involves much less pressure. Plus, I'll be spending a weekend in Los Angeles! (All right, so most of it will be spent locked up in a hotel with a group of people I don't know very well or at all, but I've never been on the West Coast before, and I am very much looking forward to three days in warm weather.)

Also, the final was one of those curiously satisfying exams that manage to challenge you but don't overwhelm you and leave you feeling stupid. They gave us three hours for a two-hour exam because last time on the midterm, people ran out of time and couldn't finish (including yours truly). Oddly enough, this time around, I finished in under two hours. O_O I don't quite know why; it's not as if I studied that much more for the final than I did for the midterm. In any case, if I can pull off an A in this course, then I will breathe a huge sigh of relief for my GPA.

[livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin and I celebrated by going to Burdick's and ordering hot chocolate after the exam. ^_^ I must say, MCB 155 definitely has been my favorite course at Harvard. I will write a paean to it once I can think coherently again.

All right, here's to a night of packing, catching up on the friends list and maybe some NaNo redux writing because, um, no, I haven't written anything other than schoolwork for the past week. >_> Will attempt to remedy in the next ten days or so left to me. >_< The gift fics won't be ready by Christmas, but they will be finished by New Year's, if I have any say in the matter.

Yours &c.
