Lowell House, on the Feast of St. Paulinus

Up to my eyeballs in frantic paper-writing. (Yes, again. I had to get an extension for this one. My TF is a lovely, wonderful person, who has spared me from the humiliation of submitting a rushed and incomplete final paper by giving me an extra day.) But in good news, I've hammered down my thesis to say something interesting! Now if only I can figure out how to organize my paper to argue it in a logical order. Right now, it's not sufficiently organized. Didn't manage to create my usual tight, high-resolution outline before I started writing, and right now I don't have the time. Anyway, have another paper due on Friday, which I haven't started yet. Luckily that one requires less, um, analysis, haha.

Will return to posting and commenting on LJ this weekend, including long, rambling travel post on L.A., which indeed had amazingly gorgeous weather. The quick and dirty summary is that yours truly managed to not remain a complete wallflower and even received some prizes. (With money attached. Yay, money for textbooks next semester!)

I don't know why I'm posting on LJ now instead of actually, you know, finishing my paper. Oh, the war against procrastination never ends. I shall now go and turn off this computer and unhook it from the Internet to remove all temptation.

Yours &c.

Post-script: Has anyone read Arturo Perez-Reverte's The Club Dumas? I bought it at the airport bookstore while waiting for my flight. Have only read first chapter, but it's excellent.

I've read a couple of APR's novels ('Club Dumas' and 'The Flanders Panel'). In the words of one critic, his novels are "beach book[s] for intellectuals". (i.e. he alludes to enough obscure things to make you feel clever reading the book and comes up with some interesting premises). So yeah, if you're thinking along the lines of high entertainment value, APR novels are good. ^^ IMHO, if you read more than a couple of his books, his cleverness begins to wear on you. But it's been a long time since I read an APR book, so I'm in no position to comment on his writing in greater detail. >_<;;

Good luck with the paper, Tari! I hope things turn out to be of less stress for you. *hugs*

(And--oh my God, you were in L.A.? I live like, 20 minutes away from L.A.! o_o!!)

PS: I'll take that book you mentioned into account. *scribbles book recs from flist* XD
