Lowell House, on the Feast of Ste. Catherine of Genoa

I'm back on campus! Moved into our "senior triple" yesterday. I have the small bedroom off the common room, which for lack of better furniture has become a study for Nan and me. I'm thinking about investing in some seat cushions.

I went to the Coop and bought two of my textbooks for the one course I'm certain about taking this semester (Classical Chinese Ethical and Political Theory, for my Moral Reasoning requirement). The other two textbooks are "out of stock", which means ordering off Amazon, I suppose. But I'm holding off until I've finished deciding on the rest of my courses. I'm a bit worried because the books I bought at the Coop don't match the ones listed on the tentative online syllabus...but then again, that syllabus has been up since early August, so I assume there probably have been changes made to it. One of the books is a reader, and it seems to include all the source texts that are presumably covered by the course (but the translations are different from the ones on the syllabus). You may ask why I even bother to buy books in advance, when classes haven't even started yet, and I don't even have an official paper syllabus. To which I have no real answer except that I like buying books, especially when I can justify the purchases.

Also went to buy school supplies but could only invest in pens and pencils since I'm not sure how many notebooks I'll need until I get a sense of the course format. -_-

To-do list for this weekend:
- [livejournal.com profile] blind_go (less than 24 hours to go!)
- pick up microwave
- write final HCRP report
- exercise
- research grad schools and start dratted statement of purpose***

*** Do you think putting multiple asterisks on a to-do list item makes you more likely to pay attention to it or more likely to want to avoid it at all costs?

Yours &c.
