GIP plus memes

Why yes, I'm posting purely so I can use this icon made by the wonderful
zoesque. Pick it up here.
By which I mean, I'm finished with my fic. Thanks so much to
tryogeru and
paradiseraph for making last-minute edits and putting up with my moaning. Hikaru no Go fandom, I love you for putting up with my whims and rising to the occasion by writing fics for this awful, awful deadline. The awfulness of which I did not fully comprehend until tonight, as I panicked to finish my submission.
murinae has two
blind_go-related memes:
Five things I did when I should have been writing
blind_go:
1. Read manga. (For other series, no less! Shame on me!)
2. Watch Korean dramas. (While I was still at home anyway.)
3. Refresh LiveJournal, especially the support thread obsessively.
4. Go to sleep early.
5. Browse the course catalog. (Yes, I'm serious.)
Five things you probably never knew about me as a fanfic writer:
1. I like descriptive lists to come in threes. (That isn't to say that all descriptive lists are that way, but the majority of them are.)
2. I also like describing sounds. Hence my first fanfic for this fandom.
3. I often try to tie my ending back to the beginning, to come full circle, as it were.
4. I often start off a fic with some set of arbitrary rules. Sometimes it's to correct a problem, like overuse of semicolons. Other times, it's just bizarre, like refusing to use certain words.
5. Perhaps most importantly: I imagine most of my fics as movie scenes before I ever begin to write them. My transitions often work like a film cut or fade. My endings are usually "momentous" pieces of dialogue. My beginnings act like camera pans or dialogue voiceovers.
Okay, I need to actually sleep now.
Yours &c.
Post-script: I think we need a thread for posting these memes, plus related icons and writing playlists. Anyone agree? ^_^

Ditto!
3. I often try to tie my ending back to the beginning, to come full circle, as it were.
Yep, I do that too often. I'm trying to kick the habit. For a while there it seemed like every fic I wrote had a circular ending. Not only that, but the middle parts would be circling all over the place too. Don't think I've kicked the habit, but at least I'm aware of it now.
