Meme & methylome

I've been tagged for a meme by
schwimmerin: Open your playlist, pick songs that start with each letter of your username, but the songs have to mean something to you. Don't just pick a song because it starts with a letter in your username. Post the list to your journal, if you want you can explain why the songs are important to you, but it's not required. Tag five people to do it.
Please note that for the last few years I've been getting my music almost entirely from free music sources. Radio, what's that? Anyway, the following list is probably the most accurate reflection of the types of music I actually listen to. (As opposed to K-pop, which is music I sing to.)
Time is Running Out (Muse) - One of the few English songs that I will sing regularly at karaoke. I always associate this song with Death Note.
A Andorinha de Primavera (Madredeus) - This song is on my personal world music mix, which I made originally for Nan.
Raphaël (Carla Bruni) - The song that made me fall in love with the chanson genre.
I Don't Know What I Can Save You From (Kings of Convenience) - I think almost everyone has listened to this song if they've been on
fst long enough, but oh, I can't listen to it enough. On my top ten mix.
Glass Souls (Benzos) - I put it on my Hikaru no Go FST and have adored the song ever since. I wish I had more songs by this group.
Where's My Love (Caroline) - I swear, this song is addictive. It reminds me of a snowglobe.
At the Edge of the World You Will Still Float (Telefon Tel Aviv) - Also on my top ten mix because I love, love, love it. If I had to choose just one artist on my iTunes to listen to on a desert island, it would be Telefon Tel Aviv.
Extraordinary Way (Conjure One) - Another
fst favorite. Also extremely addictive.
Moss Mountain Town (The Album Leaf) - Off the Mushishi FST made by
fabulous_papaya. If I had to choose a favorite track in that mix, this would be it.
Imaginary Ordinary (Architecture in Helsinki) - Another group I adore. They're so quirky and, well, weird, and I love their instrumentation. And their odd lyrics. And their voices.
Rollercoaster (Kent) - Because I can't compile a list of my favorite songs and leave off Kent. Although to be honest, Rollercoaster isn't my favorite song by them. (That would be either Stanna Hos Mig or 747.) Actually, I was scrolling through the "R" tracks in my library and was sorely tempted to put Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte by William Orbit (obviously downloaded from
petronia), because it is awesome, but to be honest I hadn't listened to it until just now.
Will upload any of these, if you are curious; just ask. ^_^

Apparently last week's issue of Cell has a cover story featuring a high-resolution map of all the DNA-methylated regions in the Arabidopsis genome. In the continuing tradition of abusing the "-ome" suffix, this map has been dubbed the "methylome". What next, chromatome?! (Oh my gosh, Google reveals that people have actually used "chromatome" as well. >_<) Nonetheless, it looks like an interesting paper; I should read it this weekend.
I was initially going to write something of substance, but my brain has been derailed by the wrestling BL on
bb_shousetsu. (Whoever wrote it is a genius, albeit a crazy one.)
Yours &c.
