Extended DVD

AHHHH! I just finished watching the extended version of the Fellowship of the Ring (while my parents were out shopping). I cried twice. Not a bawling sort of sobbing but a thoroughly "oh my gosh, that's so sad!" weeping into my handkerchief. ::chokes up:: Gandalf dying (or well, nearly dying) in Moria. Boromir dying with all those arrows in his chest. ::starts blowing her nose::
If you know me in real life, you know how uncharacteristic this sort of behavior is for me.
But! That movie was wonderful! I mean, the theater release was wonderful too, but they had the gift-giving scene at Lothlorien! Celeborn spoke! Sam and Frodo saw the Elves pass into the West (but they were supposed to be High Elves not Wood Elves)! Oh my gosh, that was perfect! I was sort of surprised when they cut some lines out, but they needed to do that to put in the new scenes. And they wove everything almost seamlessly! It's a much richer movie, but now I'm glad I bought both, because the theater version does have those missing lines.
And then I realized there were commentaries by the director, the cast, the scriptwriters.... -_- I'm going to end up watching this movie thirty times.
