Ad Mundo Exteriore,

I finished The Man Who Was Thursday last night, and I reaffirm my goal to try to write like G.K. Chesterton. I really can't describe the book adequately, but it was like one of those dreams where you're terrified or wildly delirious but you don't want to wake up because you want to know what happens next. Chesterton's prose is vivid and dramatic, but just a little bit tongue-in-cheek so that you don't know whether to hide under your blankets or to just laugh out loud. It's surreal and yet believable at the same time—you're sort of sucked in by the story until you find yourself a million miles from where you began. And I sound like the back cover of a cheap paperback.

In any case, read this book!

There was a blizzard yesterday, so I couldn't go to math class. Normally this would be good news, but I needed to hand in my homework that morning, and now I'm using up one of my automatic extensions. I only have two for the semester. -_-

On the other hand I finished the playlist to the Metropolis skin. It looks nice, though it's too yellow. Minibrowser and AVS left to go. I also finished my animated HikaGo icon, but it's on the Vaio, so I have no means of uploading it yet. Argh.

Oh, here's a good Hikaru no Go fanfic epic: View From the Floating Bridge. Worth reading because Sai comes back without turning into...::shudders::...a Mary Sue. (Yuck.)

Ad Mundo Exteriore,

I was browsing computers at CompUSA (I needed to stretch my legs, and the computer store is so conveniently close by) and I realized that some of the G4 Macs on display had Internet access. (They also had a lot of movie trailers downloaded, and I got to watch the Two Towers trailer! Yay! Also watched the trailer for Matrix Reloaded, which also looks pretty cool.) So I went to Lyd-chan's LJ and finally clicked on that link to the Two Towers parody. Naturally, I was smirking and snorting in suppressed laughter, as a sales clerk walked by.

Clerk: Excuse me, Miss? Do you need any help?
Me: ::trying not to break out into laughter:: No.
Clerk: ::walks around and stares at the screen:: Are you sure?
Me: ::reading a particularly funny slashy moment and starting to giggle:: Yes.
Clerk: ::giving me a very strange look:: Okay....::walks away quickly::

Look, L.D., I scared off a sales clerk! Not a teacher, but that's another one for our list.
