End of Gasshuku
Feb. 25th, 2004 03:46 amAd Mundo Exteriore,
Don't ask what I'm doing up this late. You don't want to know, and I don't want to think about it.
Anyway, the Japanese students are leaving tomorrow morning, and so tonight, the three Keio freshmen staying in my dorm gave me a tenugui--the cloth that you wrap around your head before you put on the men--and a thank-you card. It was awfully sweet, and they planned it all very nicely. I was too surprised to show my appreciation, but it really was a touching gesture, even to my cynical mind. ^_^ I mean, I wasn't their actual host, and all I really did was make sure they got into and out of the dorm. The thank-you card is written in Japanese, not English, which means I'll have to get Tryo-chan to translate it for me.
The Gasshuku is over, and despite the incredible headache and problems it caused, I think it's worth it. And though I didn't really talk all that much with the Keio students, I kind of miss them already. I mean, they did pretty much occupy our minds for an entire week. Now kendo's taking a backseat to schoolwork...starting from this moment.
