Of midterms and quizzes

Am pretty certain that I've failed my first chemistry midterm this morning. Oh, I can hear you all saying, "Surely you exaggerate, Tari! Methinks I remember you saying the same about biology last semester! You underestimate yourself!" But I assure you, I went into the test having studied for about six hours (not counting four hours of review sessions), without really understanding the material of the last lecture on alkenes (it was crucial, and I slept through its entirety, thanks to Gasshuku). I also had a failing score on the last problem set I handed in and hadn't done about half the textbook reading. The exam was supposed to be difficult for people who had been following the material, and I didn't even manage to do that.
Of course, I walked into the exam, knowing that I was going to fail, so I wasn't shocked to realize that I wasn't sure of half my answers, but that only takes the edge off my depression. My only hope right now is to spend the weekend catching up in chemistry so I'll stay on course for the rest of the semester. I'm really hoping that I can drop this midterm and do well enough on the final to make up for it.
The Gasshuku did swallow up all my time for the past week, but I have to admit that I could have done a better job managing my time more efficiently. Also, if I spent less time sleeping yesterday, I probably could have studied more. Well, at least I'm awake and functioning now. Will try my best to avoid thinking about this morning's travesty and focus on catching up on work instead. Well, at least there's no kendo practice today, which wins me about five more hours of potential productiveness.

Never fear, oniichan, I'll make an icon set before the day is done. Just don't expect anything more substantial than that.
