The standing and the waiting
Sometimes what is worse than seeing the senseless destruction, or his own helplessness at the sight of Fuuma's once-familiar face, or the memory of each and every death that has haunted him since this whole long nightmare began, is the endless waiting in between. Each day, no, even an hour of quiet silence pulls and drags at him with clawing fingers--when, oh when, will the next attack come, how much longer is he supposed to stand and do nothing while Hinoto waits for her visions, why can't it just end, just stop, the blood, the deaths, the destruction, the wretched and savage dreams--
I want the world to end now, he thinks as he looks up at Tokyo Tower.
