Lowell House, on the Feast of the Blessed Marianus Scotus

Was surprised and charmed to discover the Hikago Love Meme this morning (brought to us by the ever-wonderful [livejournal.com profile] daisy_chan) and spent the last hour leaving comments and starting six new comment threads. ^_^ Anyway, I just wanted to say: I LOVE YOU ALL TOO. ::hearts::

[livejournal.com profile] jaebi_lit persuaded me to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] remixredux this year. The sign-up deadline is tomorrow, if you're interested in participating. (Please do! The top three fandoms I listed were Hikaru no Go, Mushishi and Gundam Wing, so I'm hoping people in those fandoms will sign up.)

In other news, progress on thesis has been abysmal, but hopefully I'll catch up this afternoon. I'm also trying to frantically finish writing for the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days theme exchange (which is due on Wednesday, erk). However, I did figure out a rough plot outline for my submission to [livejournal.com profile] imaginarybeasts! Two words: Regency and folktale. (Why make up an original plot when you can just borrow from oral tradition? >_>)

Yours &c.

Oh, THANK YOU for starting new threads. I thought I was going to have to go through and just add every member of the comm at the rate they were going. XD
::hughughugs::

Good luck on the remix!

Can I not sign up and just ask you to rewrite all my fics instead? XD

That comm is so tempting, but I'm afraid to find out how much better another person could write my ideas. Even I know that on the level of actual sentences, I fall short. XD; And rewriting someone else's story, it sounds interesting, but would it be interesting enough that I'd be inspired to actually finish on time. (Hey, this is a legitimate concern!)

lol. Actually, Zoe was talking about putting together a Hikago-only remix at some point. You should ask if she's still interested in mod-ing it!

Dude, that has happened to me every single time I've done a remix challenge. The awesome thing, though, is that the remixes I've received have been so fantastic that it was all about squeeing at this fantastic take on my idea rather than feeling like a crappy writer in comparison. The remix process is like a microcosm of playing in the fandom sandbox. Instead of you and other writers squeeing over a canon 'verse, it's one other writer squeeing specifically over your fic's 'verse and the results are always interesting. Also, it makes me feel like a miniature god to see other people write within the world of my fics. Dance, characters, dance!

As for the time aspect, the timeframe is just under two months, which is plenty of time! C'mon, you want to play! *puppy eyes at you* Think of [livejournal.com profile] tarigwaemir! There need to be more anime fandom people in the mix!

I know what you mean about being apprehensive about reading a remix that's better than your own fic...but I think it would be kind of awesome as well. There's a lot of ideas I've had that I think could be executed better or developed into a longer story, if I were only a better writer. (I.e. if I could come up with plots.) ^_^ Anyway, I'm not sure what to expect but the few remixes I've read "feel" different enough from the original so I think it'll be pretty interesting.

Anyway, do sign up! You know you want to! We can form a mini support group for deadline angst. XD ::cheerfully exerts peer pressure::

Haha, yes, I decided to give it a try. I think the sign-up deadline is February 10? In any case, there's still some time left. ^_^
