Happy New Year
Jan. 1st, 2003 12:04 pmAd Mundo Exteriore,
Saehaebok manhi padeuseyo! (That looks so odd when romanized. It means, "May you receive many New Year's blessings/good fortune!")
My godmother gave me a whole jar of gourmet chocolates for New Year's. To make up for the lack of a Christmas card I suppose. Ghirardelli's, I think. Too sweet for me though, in spite of all the caramel. I love caramel-filled chocolate, but only up to a point. I get nauseous if I eat more than a nibble.
Mother's trying to bribe us to go wash the rice, by saying, "If you don't do it, I will." Huh? Father and I reply, "Great. Go do it yourself then." Then she says, "I'll give you chocolate, if you'll wash the rice for me!" I answer, "You're the only one in this house who likes chocolate anyway." Ah, the bizarrities of a family that hates doing chores.
Still searching for more sources for the HUNS paper. Isn't it awful, doing research on New Year's Day? Nevertheless, my New Year's resolutions include trying not to procrastinate. (We will ignore the fact that by writing in my LJ, I've already broken that particular resolution.)
I had this odd dream last night (more like this morning, actually) concerning a LotR merchandise shopping spree,
kaydeefalls,
lush_rimbaud, and oddly enough, an imaginary friend whom I invented when I was eight. kaydee for some undisclosed reason was giving out these gift certificates, which could only be used for buying LotR action figures. Since Lyd-chan already had all of them, she used hers to buy me lots of Frodo dolls. The imaginary friend decided then to kidnap me--I have no idea why--and started insulting the Frodo dolls. Several dream bits and fragments later, I remember everything slowly turned into some kind of half-SF, half-spy movie situation, and I was infiltrating some government base to retrieve top secret information, which, again for some undisclosed reason, concerned the release of the next LotR movie. O_O
Why are my dreams turning out to be more and more unbelievable these days? One night, I was dreaming that I was watching an action movie with an ugly macho male as the lead, and he kept having trouble with keeping hundreds of rolls of toliet paper in a cabinet. I don't remember why the toliet paper was so important, though I think they morphed into large blue blueprints later on.

Blue blueprints, as opposed to the other kind?
(Trust me. I'm all too familar with blueprints. The blueprinting process is one of those little things that make me question my wanting to go to Rice architecture so much. Hate ammonia fumes, I do.)
