Memes, senioritis

Still catching up on both fandom and school, but in the meanwhile, some memes!
Taken from just about everyone:

I think I would want my daemon to be a bird though.
Went to Widener on Monday and checked out The Wasp Factory (Iain Banks' first novel), Murder Must Advertise (another Peter Wimsey mystery) and The Mating Season (a Jeeves and Wooster novel). Realized (belatedly) later in the evening that in doing so I had forgotten to attend my Monday afternoon section. Yes, that's the sort of mindset I'm in right now. -_- Not that I've learned my lesson. Yesterday, I finished Calvino's If on a winter's night a traveler, while sitting in an cozy armchair in Lamont. It was one of the most delightful afternoons I've had in a while. Then I came back, ate dinner, and spent the rest of the evening reading The Wasp Factory (which, for some reason, is not as horrifying as I expected it to be) and The Mating Season (Wodehouse has the most refreshing prose to a burnt-out mind). No schoolwork done, nor any words written for the three major writing deadlines coming up in the next two weeks. In fact, about all that I've accomplished since this weekend is to do a total of 56 genomic DNA preps over the past two days in lab. Senioritis is hitting me with a vengeance.
Well, I should at the very least finish this scholarship application tonight if nothing else. >_> And I will definitely make a longer post about Shoryuhai, whether you want to read it or not. ^_~
Yours &c.
Post-script: Sorry for the repeated posting...had some copy-pasting issues.
Post-post-script: Oh, the other thing I meant to post about...
remix_redux fics are up and have been for a while. One of my Christmas drabbles, Holding Hands, was remixed into a lovely oneshot, Holding Hands (The Rock Scissors Paper Remix). The style sounds so familiar that I'm sure I've at least read the remixer's fics somewhere before, although I can't decide who it is. I haven't had much of a chance to go through the rest of the archive, but I did notice there were two other Hikaru no Go fics in
remix_redux this year. What a surprise! I guess we're not such a small fandom anymore.
(The remix I submitted was hastily written and in bad need of an edit. Still, my recipient seems to have liked it, which is a relief.)
