Blind Go aftermath

Happy birthday,
zoesque! (Hey, I'm getting better at this business of keeping track of birthdays.)
I don't have a
blind_go theme song, but I do have a playlist that I played on shuffle repeat while writing the fic. If these songs evoke the same associations for you that they do for me, then you're well on your way to figuring out which fic I wrote.
(Not a proper mix because the songs aren't ordered yet.)
Five things I learned during round three:
1. Writing the bulk of your fic the night before is not a wise idea.
2. Being a compulsive outliner means that writing without an outline is a terrifying, traumatizing experience that harrows you to the depths of your soul.
3. Starting off with an idea without a plot with the hopes that a plot will come to you as you go along is also not a wise idea.
4. Wikipedia is my best friend.
5. I should never sign up for a long fic challenge where the deadline is right after my thesis due date and Shoryuhai.
Five things I did instead of writing my Blind Go fic:
1. Wrote my senior thesis.
2. Had my life swallowed up by preparing for kendo tournament and the said tournament itself, not to mention all the related social events.
3. Read novels in the pleasant haze of post-thesis slackerdom.
4. Watched Saiunkoku Monogatari and first season episodes of Roswell (also in pleasant haze of post-thesis slackerdom).
5. Wrote
remix_redux fic and second chapter of India and the Conundrum serial, also in a last-minute rush.
Five fics I almost wrote for Blind Go but didn't:
1. Touya Kouyou replaying his game with Sai obsessively until he starts imagining who the person behind the go must be. (My would-be Touya Kouyou/Sai epic.)
2. Yashiro goes to Korea and has bizarre tourist adventures in Seoul with Ko Yeongha. (I'm glad I didn't because someone else wrote brilliant Yeongha/Yashiro fic, and now I no longer have to. Yay!)
3. Hong Suyeong as kenkyuusei before meeting Shindou.
4. Epistolary fic with Touya in China and Shindou in Japan.
5. That sequel to Balance. (But of course, everyone would know that it was me.)
I've been told that
silvermuse89 and I were voted to be the Meijin and Sai in the
blind_go chat, although I'm not sure exactly which of the two I'm supposed to be. ^_^
Also, I'll be offering drabbles to anyone who guesses my fic correctly. (Comments are screened.) I think mine should be fairly obvious to guess, if you judge by the content and overall mood.
Yours &c.

How far are you in Saiunkoku? It's just been licensed, so it might be a long wait until season two is released.
You know, another interesting
Hmmm, I wonder what everyone was voted. *reads

Date: 2007-05-08 02:21 am (UTC)I'm just up to episode 24 with Saiunkoku. Oh, I should probably hurry up and finish watching the rest of what's out before it all disappears! ::goes marathoning::
Ooh, that's an interesting idea. I wonder if we could make that another possible option for the next round?
Aww, thanks. <3 I think you would make a good Sai though, in terms of sheer enthusiasm. ^_^ If I had to choose a character, I think I would want to be Hidaka from the Kaio go club (although she's probably a lot more bombastic than me).
