Excuse me?
May. 31st, 2007 12:13 amLowell House, on the Feast of Ste. Joan of Arc
Originally, I was going to post my much belated
blind_go aftermath post (with my guessing rationale and self-absorbed babble about my submission) and maybe some commentary on recent roommate outings and Senior Week events, but it feels a little out-of-sync what with all the hubbub over Strikeout 2007.
I have to admit, I did feel that people were overreacting a little at first (the conspiracy-theorizing about LiveJournal targeting fandom seemed going overboard) but the statement from Six Apart about how they deleted journals based on "what community we want to build and what we think is appropriate within that community and what's not" annoyed me to no end. Excuse me? What right does Six Apart have to decide what the LiveJournal userbase should be like? (Okay, okay, as the proprietary corporation, they have every right, but still it rankles.)
I don't have much incentive to move, but if it weren't for fandom, I wouldn't have much incentive to stay either.
Anyway, as a precaution, I've backed up all the
blind_go fics through ljArchive. I wasn't going to bother until
aishuu pointed out the deletion of a Hikago roleplaying account, and then I remembered that there may be fics with objectionable content. -_-
Yours &c.
Post-script: On a much lighter note, I've noticed mentions of facebook accounts on the friends list. If you have a facebook account and don't mind me friending you, let me know! (By email, if you're reluctant to divulge your real name.) I'm...not exactly a facebook addict, but I've been a member almost since the site began in my freshman year (if you look at my ID number, I was the 143rd person to join up), so I'm rather active on it.

Date: 2007-06-01 04:28 am (UTC)I'm too lazy to move and lose all my old archives/comments/etc unless a) they throw me off or b) everyone moves. But oh well, I guess it's a reason to not lust after paid accounts anymore! MONEY, SAVED.
