Also, I was pleasantly surprised to receive notice of a New Year's Resolution fic written for one of my yuletide requests: We the Damned, featuring Harriet and Bunter. (Coincidentally, just to demonstrate that it's a small world after all, adina_atl who wrote the fic also wrote Several Competent Wizards (Mairelon the Magician/Sorcery and Cecilia/Enchanted Forest Chronicles crossover), which apparently was originally started as a pinch hit for kaydeefalls. Plus, I remember sub_divided recommending this very fic, which makes it a nice double knot of connections.)

Speaking of Sayers, I watched the BBC adaptation of Have His Carcase. General verdict: timetable element of the mystery much more bearable, witty repartee for the most part preserved. I don't know how Gaudy Night will fare in the transition to screen though.

I didn't know that Philip K. Dick had written a YA novel. Oh, and here's an interview with Iain Banks in the Guardian, if you haven't seen it already. Speaking of SF writers, lacewood talks about Ted Chiang's short story anthology. (Anyone who remotely likes SF ought to read Ted Chiang.)

To stay up and read papers for class or to go to sleep...oh, the dilemma. -_-

Oh wow, this person has written a lot of great Yuletide fic - I read The Golden iPod despite not knowing the source and it still managed to be AWESOME. XD And the WREDE CROSSOVR OF DOOM ZOMG. And now Harriet and Bunter!

Ahaha, my comments on the short stories are pretty incoherent, tho, even if you've read the book, so am not sure anyone would derive anything from it. XD

And um, about Via Misadventure! I never did manage to help or something??? XD;;; I just went back and read the latest chapters. So how will they get to Mercerport, if the train won't take them? XD Walk the tracks? Is the girl supposed to be somewhere? Maybe you could have her conveniently turn up again, MYSTERIOUSLY. What was the direction you wanted it to go in, overall? How does the girl fit in? XD

This might be easier over AIM? Though honestly what I seem to be good at is uh.... asking people ridiculous questions, so I have no idea if that would help AT ALL. XD

Ahhh! I just realized I never sent you a set of edited chapters of everything I've written. Plus I haven't gotten anything done for the next chapter...although these questions are exactly the sort of prodding that I need to get thinking about the plot properly. I was planning on bringing back the girl, but I wanted to avoid having her flit in and out constantly; it would get so repetitive. Also, originally, I was going to have them figure out the key to the whole situation once they finally find the girl and talk to her face to face. The man in the blue coat is the girl's father though, and somehow he's using Zhenya to "communicate" with her. What the message is, I don't know...though maybe I should just have them meet the girl before they figure everything out because I need time to figure things out myself. ^_^;;

I was going to have them go to Mercerport but still remain underground, i.e. remain underwater, but I haven't thought of an inventive way for them to get there, although I did get them on the water with the boat and the crazy lady in the poncho. I also have no idea what's going on with Cedric; he was a spur-of-the-moment invention. Should I return him to his mother? Is he involved with the girl? ::throws hands up in air::
