Earrings

Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Er...I got my ears pierced today for the most ridiculous reason. My mother believes that it is conventional to wear earrings when you put your hair up for a formal occasion. She has been nagging me for a year about this supposed custom ever since she found out about prom last year. (When everyone was thinking about semiformal.) She said that I'll need to wear earrings sooner or later and that it's best that I get them pierced now for the prom so I won't have to worry about it later. Naturally, I was obstinate, but Mother's a master at worrying about details. (She also made herself terribly anxious about finding high-heeled shoes for me, though all ended well when we found a very cheap and surprisingly comfortable pair this weekend.) Finally, I gave in last week, after realizing that I'll be able to wear a pair of Aya earrings, and so now I'm sitting here with throbbing earlobes and white gold balls in my ears.

I hope the Aya earrings are worth it. (I mean those gold bars that Ran wears in WK.) I have to go around dabbing antiseptic on my ears for six weeks. Argh. Mother tells me, "You must endure discomfort to make yourself beautiful." And I reply, "Oh, you hypocrite." Mother only puts on makeup and jewelry a few times a year, because she's too lazy. So why on earth does she expect me to be any different? I'm even more of a sloth than she is.

Still, Mother seems pretty excited about dressing me up for the prom as if she were a five year old playing with her doll, albeit a 5' 2" doll in my case. I suppose I can stand being a little uncomfortable if it makes her feel happy. I think.

Post-script: Oh yes, someone asked me the other day about my "secret SN", which is actually just tarigwaemir3. I never use it, though, so how exactly someone would know about it is a mystery. In other words, which one of you was it? Angelette-oniichan?

Eh, my mom isn't as eager since she found out I'm going with you (no offence, she thinks higher of you than she does the moon, Miss Harvard girl ^.^), and she's more like going along trying to spend as little money as possible. We did go to this place in Queens and found some really cheap dresses, but only one that was somewhat comparable to the one I found at macy's (only because this one was in a qipao or Count D style, though the material is kinda scratchy), and we got it only because it was cheap, and I like qipaos.
I'll spend the next few weeks trying to figure out which one to wear, and what to do with my Duo hair. eh.

BTW. If you ever do find Aya earrings, tell me. I've been searching ever since, and have come up empty.

I still trying to finish my Trail paper ever since my computer ate it!!! >.<#

Gah, I wish my mother was trying to spend as little money as possible. The world has indeed changed when I have to be the responsible one about money. >_<

But qipaos are cool! And yes, the search for Aya earrings is on!

I was just curious, because no one knows it except you. (And I'm not sure if you remember.)
