Quick note

I'm going graphics-crazy again. I made a new icon last night, but it's not uploaded because (1) I'm sort of on an online ban and (2) I need to borrow an Ethernet cable to transfer it onto the Mac. Argh. The annoyance of having Photoshop on one computer and not on the other.
Oniichan was telling me about these "battle graphics" where you start a wallpaper, pass it onto the next person, and continue round-robin style until everyone is satisfied. And I think it sounds really cool, because oniichan and I have very different strengths when it comes to wallpapers. Hopefully, we'll be able to make cooler wallpapers together than we would by ourselves. Also, she's planning to redo her graphics site, which hosts all my stuff as well, so I'm getting HTML happy again. ^_^ I'm a coding freak by the way. All the tags must be just so.
Mother was comparing again, which drives me up the wall. It's funny, because in some cases I can tolerate it while in others I get really annoyed and upset. For example, if it's Angelette-oniichan, then I don't mind, but if it's say, L.P., I start getting annoyed. And if it's this Korean clarinet-playing prodigy whose parents met mine during the last day of that college visit, then I explode. Honestly, if I'm going to be compared to someone, why not on the basis of academics, instead of something like the clarinet? I play the flute badly, but I've never touched the clarinet in my life. I don't have a fighting chance in such a matchup. Not fair. Mother isn't too much into academic comparison, but she really does envy Asian parents who have musical prodigies for children, especially since I quit piano after seven years and took a long hiatus from flute.
I finally finished Ficciones, which I still don't understand, but I'm taking a break from the other books to reread the first ten chapters of Ivanhoe. I'm tutoring a fifth grader in reading and writing, you see, so I thought that would be an appropriate book to start with. (Oniichan says I'm going to turn the poor kid into a mini me, but I think he can handle it. Ivanhoe isn't difficult at all after you've gotten used to the style, and it should have enough adventure and excitement for a boy's tastes.)
This isn't at all a quick note, is it? Well, off to eat lunch. Will write more later, bwahahaha.

Um...well, I DON'T want to see Chii in the new layout. Sorry. I'm tired of Chii. Subaru, Sasuke, anyone from GW...um...hey, what about Fruits Basket? Yuki-kun? Or what about .hack? Tsukasa?
Also, oniichan, can I upload a Perl script onto the server, and if so where? I figured out the guestbook script, and it even looks pretty decent, but I'm not sure if my changes didn't cause some horrible error in the posting stage.
