Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Mother and I took one of my students and his friend to a movie, then to the bookstore, then to the Toys 'R' Us, and finally to the library (where I finally picked up Abhorsen). I am exhausted.

Nevertheless, I managed to update my site, and the infamous mystery story of two months ago is up. Go and read it, please. I should put up a guestbook too someday.

Also, I finally set up my new computer last night. I'm very pleased, but the lack of preinstalled programs leaves me with nothing to do until I manage to move my files over. It's an ugly brute, but it's still mine. Hmph. I'll sacrifice lambs to its altar if that's needed to keep it in good condition. ^_^ Me, a computer geek? Uh, no...of course not. >_>

IBM NetVista tower, with 512 MB RAM and 2.4 GHz P4 processor. Unfortunately, only 40 GB. -_- Well, who am I to complain? Especially since this is the first time I'll be owning a DVD/CD-RW drive. ^___^

Very nice. I am duly impressed. I myself am shooting for an eMac (1.0 GHz G4 PowerPC, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive) which, after educational discount, can be had with a built-in 17" flat CRT for a mere $1600. And they said Macs were expensive.

Well, they were right...the eMac is the budget Mac. But what a budget computer... *drool*

I still want a G4 PowerBook.

Niiiice. Get it, get it. Mine, with similar educational discount, was about $1100. ^_^

The mention of the 1 GB RAM is making me drool. Hm, maybe I should upgrade my memory by next summer...Yeah, I'm incorrigible. I don't actually need a more powerful computer but I'm greedy anyway.
