Ad Mundo Exteriore,
Apparently I'm turning into a cranky teacher. But I wouldn't be so mean if the kid didn't try to insult me or fidget every five minutes.
I have very little to say today. Usually I have pages and pages of babble stored up in my head. Let's see: I didn't practice flute sufficiently, which is not a good sign, considering my lesson is in about forty-five minutes. Yesterday, we watched this French film about two women who leave their husbands for each other, and amazingly, my mother didn't feel squeamish about it (although I don't think she really understood the nature of their relationship). I read some more of Good Morning Call, which exasperates me to no end, although that doesn't stop me from reading it. The heavens have been drenching us with rain over the past week, or so it seems, and the sidewalks smell like damp compost. I've been covered with goosebumps for the past two hours, because the air conditioning actually works today. The sun is out but ineffective. And I'm in a dilemma over whether I want to take a seminar in Iranian mythology or Confucian classics during freshman year.
Overall, I'm pretty cranky. I need a cup of hot chocolate. Hm, maybe I'll feel better after I go out for dumplings during lunch.

Date: 2003-07-24 08:17 am (UTC)Argh, course selection! So I'm allowed to take a max of 5 classes per semester, and there are four distribution categories. English and Foreign Languages fall into the same category, so I can either take a full year Chinese course or take one English and one French. I can't even make one language thing into a fifth class, because choruses count towards the five as well! So do I take the Shakespeare course with the professor who's said to be one of the best, or this eighteenth-century British lit course whose professor throws Monty Python references even into the course description? Blargh.
