Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Well, oniichan said that we were going to have a massive release once the new layout was done. But I've been talking about this skin for so long that I thought the least I could do was to make it available for download on my LJ. I'm not posting it to hikarunogo or winamp_skins, however, so Angelette will forgive me, right? Right?

I've just read twenty-five volumes of Hana Yori Dango. @_@ I feel...dizzy.... I do like the implausible storyline, which is better than any rich-versus-poor-family drama I've ever watched, but I really dislike reading about neurotic relationships. I do understand that high schoolers are supposed to be confused and hormonal and (melo)dramatic, but I don't really identify with it. It's fun to read about, nevertheless. ^_^ Tsukushi is probably among the smarter shoujo manga heroines so far. Oh, and Dice is really cute too. (It has a sensible girl for once!)

I wanted to ramble on and on about The Tale of Genji, which I've finally started to read again, and The Story of the Stone, which I picked up in the library today, but I'll save that for next time. (The Story of the Stone, also known as The Dream of the Red Chamber, is by Cao Xuejin and is probably well known to my Chinese friends. It's delicious, but The Three Kingdoms is better.)

Moss Roberts! He's the best (and the most famous) translator. By the way, don't read David Hawke's translation of Hong lou meng, because I think you'll go into paroxysms over the bad verse. I mean, I don't really mind as long as I get the story, but I have a feeling you'll hate it.

But Moss Roberts translates beeeeeautifully. (Wah, Zhuge Liang with eyebrows that arch like a crane's wing...) I've only read the abridged version, but I'm going to get the unabridged for Christmas. Oh, and by the way, I've been in love with Zhuge Liang (a.k.a. Kongming) for years, and if I ever meet anyone who looks like him or at least the way I imagine him in my head, I will probably be worse than Lyd-chan in a crush. ::fangirl drool::

Whee! I just came back from visiting imouto, and i saw that he had Three Kingdoms in English, so I borrowed it. It's like four small paperbacks. I think it's the unabridged version because it's v. thin paper. I look at the translator...Moss Roborts!!
Unless they're really really really into bootleg stuff, that's the guy right?

It has nice drawings.

This version for some strange reason is illegal to sell in North America, only Asia.
Some people are going back to China, now I know what I want...

BTW, there's a Playstation 2 video game called "Dynasty Warriors" (four is the most recent version) and that is actually "Three Kingdoms". You get to be Zhu Ge Liang and Cao Cao and everyone.

Btw2, I like playing as the character Zhang Ge. He has these bird/wolverine claws thingies. Also, he's really fast and is a bit of a prettyboy (one time, if you beat him, he runs away and says "Well...I guess there is a sort of beauty in retreat." or something. eh.
