Ad Mundo Exteriore,
Against my better instincts, I submitted my skins to winamp.com, and they just got published today. I only posted up my five best skins because of my bad experiences with picture skin discrimination.
::takes a deep breath:: The staff rated all of them as 2.5 stars, except for the Tima skin, which scraped by with a 3.
I don't know why I'm letting it bother me so much. The Winamp staff has their particular likes and dislikes, and they tend to slam anime skins. I don't entirely blame them, since half the anime skins there are horribly done. I thought I managed to stop caring after the deviantART critics, but it really feels unjust! The main reason for the low rating appears to be that I didn't skin the 2.91 elements. But it's galling to see a much shoddier skin receive 4 stars, simply because it was published before 2.91 was released.
Well, I've already planned to make the Spiral skin 2.91-compatible, and when, or rather, if I finish it, I'll try submitting again. But if they give me a low rating for one more stupid, nitpicking reason, I'm going to delete my work and stick to Have Faith and LJ as my release sites.

Date: 2003-09-24 04:04 pm (UTC)In other, slightly more disturbing (interesting?) news, I checked that lj match site that was going around a while back. On my updated list, you're the person with whom I'm most compatible: tehe (http://www.livejournal.com/users/blenrock/68723.html).
Wow... maybe the people who paired roommates here actually know what they're doing. Or something like that. =)

Date: 2003-09-25 10:31 pm (UTC)But anyway. yeah, I know exactly how you feel. The ones I submitted are still up there, but I don't think I will /ever/ upload there again. Not in the least because of the asshat that decided that day was 'bash Kelly' day. Bashed everything from my skins, to my artistic skills, to my aesthetics... His reveiws are gone now. Thank God. I hope to the Highest Heaven that you don't get anything like that because you definitely don't deserve it.
