Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Yesterday night was the first time I've been directly in the presence of alcohol since I've started college. No, not a party, thank you very much. The kendo club eats dinner after Friday night's practice, and since everyone was either a senior or an alumnus, it was legal for all of them to drink. (I, of course, had a Sprite.) They definitely knew how to drink responsibly, and I certainly couldn't tell that they'd been drinking (well, if it weren't for the empty beer bottles), although one of the girls told me that she felt a bit dizzy. On the other hand, the alumnus who coaches us drove us back, and then the effects of alcohol became all too clear. Not that he was a reckless driver or anything, but the turns were definitely too sharp and too fast. >_< Just don't let my parents know that...they were actually here to visit this weekend, and they were rather shocked to hear that I got back to my dorm at 11:30.

Oh, shut up. I know you're all looking at one another, trying not to smirk. I know 11:30 isn't late by modern standards. But too bad, this is as close as I'll ever get to an actual party. My soul was born in the Victorian age after all. There goes oniichan's prediction that I would come back from college as an Asian ghetto punk. ::sticks tongue out at oniichan::

Chili's, by the way, has great food. But it's too expensive. In fact, everything in Cambridge is too expensive. And this is coming from a New Yorker! I think it's because New York has enough grubby little delis where you can get bad food cheaply, while everything in Cambridge has this nice veneer of, well, upper-middle-class quality. Cambridge is simply too suburban to be cheap. I normally don't mind that, since everything looks so clean and shiny, but when it comes to my wallet...

I watched Naruto 55. The series is slowing down again, probably in preparation for another adrenaline-driven plot rush. The tadpoles are cute however. I can just imagine a cute LJ icon of a tadpole waggling its tail. I'm also reading Ultra Maniac because...well, I really don't know why I'm reading Ultra Maniac except that it has the same mangaka as Marmalade Boy. Someone save me from this excess of shoujo sap.

LoL! Tari-chaaaan~ Nu, nu... I'm still smirking, and I think you'll come home one bad-ass girl =D ::bwhaahahahaa!!~::

I'm bored...talk to meeee!!~~

Tari, if I ever visit Cambridge, you're gonna introduce me to all the bad stuff, aren't you? Tsk tsk. Even I haven't been in the presence of alcohol yet...even though, had I been dorming, I get this strange sensation that that would be a different story... =X

You're going to be worse than I am!! I tell you, you will! I mean, the latest I've gotten home was 10:30 ... and that was after KCCC! A Christian meeting, lol! We were having praise =D And you were ::ahem:: ::cough cough::

Oh, nm. Actually, the latest I've gotten home was the next day...>_> 2PM. Uh, yah. But that was also praise and church. See what a good little girl I am. Daaayam, you're gonna come back worse than I ever predicted I may have become!!!! =D~~~ ::Spittle!!::

Save you from the shoujo mangas?! NUU!! THANKSGIVING!! How long is your break? You are coming over and watching some Meteor Garden! LMFAO!~

What do you mean, all the bad stuff? What, you want to work out at the dojo? If by bad stuff you mean swinging a sword up and down for two and a half hours, sure. Oh wait, no, you mean sitting in my room and staring at the computer screen all night. -_-

If you were in a dorm, you'd have gotten drunk already. XP

Thanksgiving is pretty short and I think I have homework over the break. -_- But I'll see what I can do about coming over to watch Meteor Garden (because you'll kill me if I don't). ::sweatdrops::

Oh please. You with your secret desire to go clubbing and partying. As if you'd stay away from the omnipresent alcohol at the college party scene. XP

I've been enjoying the Ultra Maniac anime quite a bit, enough that I want to check out the manga (since I really liked Marmalade Boy).

Also, there is inexpensive food in Cambridge, the trick is finding it. In Harvard Square there's always Pho Pasteur or Iruna (one of my favorites). But most of the ones around there are quite expensive. I also tend to hit Cafe Sushi a fair amount because their lunch specials aren't too bad and I can get it to go.

Ah, I pass by Pho Pasteur pretty frequently. I should actually go in someday. ^_^

I haven't seen the Ultra Maniac anime, but I'm definitely planning on downloading it as soon as I burn off the video files already on my computer. >_> Anyway, the manga is very cute, but unfortunately, they've only scanslated the first two volumes.
