Have Faith received 50 hits today. The power of
animeicons is rather shocking.
I went into Widener for the first time today. Of course I had no idea where to go, so I just kept walking until I found an empty seat and then read for three hours straight. I should now proceed to do the rest of my homework instead of continuing to browse graphics sites. But before I do so, let me just say that I just learned that my tsumego book was written Cho Chikun (Cho Ch'ihun, in Korean), the Touya Akira-type go prodigy who became Meijin at eighteen. In other words, my age. And I can only play on 9x9 boards. >_>
Come to think of it, he really is a Touya Akira-type, because he comes from an illustrious family of go pros. His father was considered the founder of modern Korean baduk, and his older brother was also a very talented pro, although he was later expelled for some complicated reason that I don't remember.
Also, yesterday, my mentor for my NYCSEF project emailed me and asked me to send him a letter detailing my experience in his lab. He's applying for a NSF grant and apparently he gets extra points if he shows that the lab has done "outreach" projects like providing opportunities to high school students. So that's why so many labs are willing to take in random student interns...
