Post-Thanksgiving update
Nov. 30th, 2003 03:19 pmAd Mundo Exteriore,
These past three days were vaguely surreal but very relaxing. I spent most of my time sleeping, getting up, stuffing myself like a pig, and sleeping again. ^_^ I hope I gained some weight. Anyway, I would be able to write in more detail if I didn't have to write this GN article. >_> And if I haven't read an overwhelming four pages of a very long friends list.
Researching Japan's political party system is, to say the least, an interesting experience. One of the past prime ministers, Hashimoto Ryutaro, happens to be a sponsor and honorary member of our kendo club. The senpaitachi talk about him as a very skilled kendoka, mostly in hushed tones of awe and gratitude. The books I've been reading on the LDP talk about him as this vaguely Mafia-esque party faction leader jockeying for power while being implicated in corruption scandals. O_O What a schism.
I think I've become narcoleptic. I've slept for 11+ hours every day during the break, but I'm still sleepy. >_> Or maybe I'm just being avoidant?
