JanimeS, which provides WYSIWYG scanslations of Korean manhwa, has just started translating Aspirin, which is a horribly bad modern take on an amalgamation of Korean folktales. So far, the folktale count is at two--the Tangun founding myth and the love story of Ondal and Pyeonggang--and I think more are going to be referenced. Anyway...I would appreciate it more if the folktale hasn't been horribly tortured into its present form. I mean, leopard print panty shots?! >_<

I wanted to retell the stories and provide some commentary but I'll just link to a good summary site here. If you go look at Aspirin afterwards (something I do not recommend), you can enjoy clawing your eyes out at the...defilement.

I want a Gyeonu and Jiknyeo (the Weaver and the Cowherd folktale) retelling. Actually I started writing one myself, but the prose got too intolerable.

I'm going to practice putting on my men (protective mask/helmet in kendo) so I don't embarass myself at practice today.

Hi, i'm just one the of the addicted reader of this korean manga HOT BLOODED WOMAN or 열혈여아 by 황미리. Sorry for intruding to your personality property, its just happened that i'm searching for it on the net until i came up with your journal. I have already read some chapters of it on janimes but unfortunately klisis put it on discontinued project, i'm sure you're already aware of it. I'm not a korean and i don't live in korea either that's why i find it hard to get a copy of HBW. I'm just wondering if you've known any other websites where they scanlated such story or where can i be able to download it. Thanks for your time......

I'm sorry but I don't know of any other group scanslating it. The only other scanslation group doing manhwa is Korean Manga Translations at #k-manga@irc.rizon.com, and unfortunately, they aren't doing that series.

Have you tried ordering through Korean bookstores?
