Ad Mundo Exteriore,

Forgot who I picked this one up from:

find your element
at mutedfaith.com.

I guess the description matches, but I don't think of time as an element. >_>

From [livejournal.com profile] rimedragona:

Heart of Crystal

What is Your Heart REALLY Made of?

Hm...don't really remember if this is accurate or not. It was so long ago...and my memory has gone down the drain, thanks to chemistry and kendo.

From [livejournal.com profile] evremonde:

My very British name is Margaret Walpole.
Take The Very British Name Generator today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Name Generator Generator.

Walpole...what novel was that from? I know I remember reading it before. Austen? Dickens? ::ponders:: Margaret sounds like such a bland, wishy-washy name, but I suppose that means it suits me. (Uh, no offense to anyone whose name actually is Margaret. Just my first impression, due to Little Women.)

Another one from [livejournal.com profile] rimedragona:

You are an individual. Ones are independent, focused, single-minded, and determined. In other words, you set a goal and stick to it. You're are a leader and an inventor. Which is all very good. On the other hand, you find it difficult to work with others and don't like to take orders. You can be self-centered and domineering. Probably why Ones are often loners. Please rate my quiz.

What does your name and arithmacy say about you? (some simple knowledge of adding is required on your part) If you were unsatisfied with the answer for number three, the answer is fixed.

All right. This result is freaky. I used my real name to get my final number, but you see, my name in Korean means one. Oniichan says that it means that my destined name is hana (there was also that Japanese quiz that said my name would be ichi...) I know, I know, they're just quizzes but really...they're uncanny, as Angelette just said.

Seven is sometimes considered as a mystical and magical number because of the biblical seven days of creation, and the seven heavenly bodies of ancient astronomy (i.e. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter; they hadn't seen the others yet). You are understanding, perceptive and bright, and enjoy hard work and challenges. You are often serious, scholarly, and interested in all things mysterious. Originality and imagination are more important to you than money and
material possessions. However, you can also be pessimistic, sarcastic, and insecure. Please rate my quiz.

And I got this result using the name "Tari Gwaemir". I suppose the first result would represent "the person I am naturally", while this one represents "the person I want to be". Yes, we're reading too deeply into these quizzes, but honestly, it's kind of strange because, yes, this is the type of person I want to be. >_> What's even more weird is that when Angelette added up the letters in her online name, she also got a description that sounded like the person she wants to be (i.e. successful businessperson who takes over the world, etc.).

Oh, and finally, from [livejournal.com profile] tryogeru:

Chinese Element of Wood
You are the chinese element of Wood. People who are under the element of wood are practical, focused and like to learn. Wood, you are a natural leader, but you also like to control a lot, you're never still and especially hate to lose. The color of wood is blue/green and your symbol is the dragon. Spring is the season in which wood shines, and it's months are January/February. Your weather condition is rain. Wood is the direction east, and your day is Thursday, while your planet is Jupiter. Animals under your element are usually scaled. People under you are the Mongols. Your sense is sight, your taste is sour, your sound is calling and your virtue is benevolence. Your organ is the liver. You were created by Water and you control Earth.

Which of the 5 Chinese Elements Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

While I'm being in a superstitious mood, I might as well over-analyze this quiz result too. Although I don't think it really describes me (although I do think of myself as focused...and I do like to learn...and I do like sour foods...and I do like dragons), the character for "wood" is a radical in my last name. (Note that the quiz picture did not draw the character properly. Sheesh.) Well, despite certain similarities, I have awful eyesight, I hate the spring, and I don't really like rain. All right, I don't quite hate the spring, but my favorite season by far is the fall. >_> And no, oniichan, it's not just because my birthday's in the fall. Hmph.

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] aetherangelette's last name is the character for "metal", and guess what her quiz result was? There are too many bizarre coincidences in this world.

Oh, and if you didn't know, [livejournal.com profile] bottledgray and [livejournal.com profile] aetherangelette came to Cambridge yesterday and are staying until tomorrow. I have visitors! I feel so special. We went to a restaurant, Fire and Ice, which L.P. recommended, this afternoon, and boy, did we stuff ourselves full. It was this buffet-style, all-you-can-eat grill place, and they cooked the food to order right there and had it brought to our table. Hm, it's kind of hard to describe, but it was probably the weirdest dining experience I've ever had. The food was delicious though, and we stuffed ourselves. We also went out for ice cream and bubble tea afterwards. ^_^ I'm so full...

Walpole?

Robert Walpole was an English prime minister from the 18th century, I believe. His son, Horace Walpole, wrote The Castle of Otranto (one of the first gothic novels).

You might have stumbled across his name in reading Austen, specifically Northanger Abbey. I might be mistaken, though, as it's been forever since I read the book. ^^

Oh, that's where I saw the name. Thanks! Yes, we've been reading Northanger Abbey for my expository writing class. I knew I saw that name somewhere. ^_^;;
