I suppose I should be jumping up and down with glee over my housing assignment but somehow I can't manage to run around shrieking at the top of my voice like the rest of the dorm. Nevertheless...I'm in Lowell House! It's the second closest House to the Yard, right next to the MAC (thank you, I will no longer have to walk down three Mass. Ave. blocks, dragging my bogu bag and shinai) and known for its set of Russian bells that ring every Sunday. It also seems to have a decidedly "musical" character and is the home of the Lowell House Opera society.
I spent a lot of time there during the Gasshuku because the EC member in charge of organizing it lives in Lowell House and several of the parties/events/dinners took place there. It's also the first upperclass House I ever saw, since our tour guide took us there when L.P. and I visited the summer before senior year.
Hm...upon doing some judicious directory searching, Nancy K. and Hing E. from HPTF '02 are in the same House. Interesting. Of course, I don't know either of them all that well, but it's reassuring.
It's all very anticlimactic, but I'm pretty pleased with our housing assignment. Am very relieved that we didn't get put in Mather (which I loathe).
